2015 December BBC Easterners cast support Cancer Hair Cares children’s services by supporting Twin Hats a shop that sells wooly hats to regular folks and donates the profit to Cancer Hair Care. For every hat sold a FREE hat is given to a child with cancer.

2015 February #BeatTheBurglars on Monday 16th February the charity was broken into with thousands of pounds worth of specialist hair loss equipment stolen. Read more in our news section and on facebook/cancerhaircare

2014 April Over 10,000 women have received our FREE guidance booklets. You can pick yours up at “Head Strong” sessions run by charity Breast Cancer Care or call our studio and we will pop one (along with a calming tea bag) FREE of charge in the post today.

2014 February Local groups such as Hitchin Tile House Rotary, WI, ASDA community support groups and many other local people are helping us to reach more people with cancer – thank you to all who support us.

2014 January With thanks to support from Pantene our FREE support services are set to reach across the UK throughout 2014. 

June 2013 Founder of Cancer Hair Care is made a ‘Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International’ in appreciation of her and the charities work to support people with hair loss during cancer treatment.

Her Majesty The Queen and Cancer Hair Care - Thursday 14th June 2012
Jasmin and ex patient now volunteer Marian were delighted to be invited to meet the queen at her Lister Hospital visit as part of her jubilee tour. 

70 Jubilee themed headscarves are given away – June 2012
Our caring volunteer team of sowers have been stitching till all hours to create 70 red, white and blue jubilee themed headscarves. Jasmin comments “We have sent a parcel to the teenage cancer unit so that the young patients can join in the fun. You can spot our bold ladies in their stunning jubilee scarves ideal for both the Olympic and jubilee celebrations. Its really important that everyone can feel included and so when patients are hair free we enjoy creating fun scarves for them to wear”.

Children receive our unique dollies to understand hair loss – May 2012
Thanks to our fantastic volunteers our unique dollies are making there way around children’s cancer units to help explain hair loss and new growth to children.  Our Happy Heads service for kids offers these and other tools to help both children and parents understand and cope.

370 Teenage cancer patients receive a Gigs and Wigs Make over - 25th February 2012
At Cancer Hair Care we run the countries first all rounded hair loss support service for teenagers called Gigs and Wigs. On 25th February we gave 370 young people a make over to remember. Every patient received a goodie bag and specialist services such as wig fittings, make up and advice made fun and funky.  Find Your Sense of Tumour (Teenage Cancer Trust) Nottingham.

Caring Hair is a registered charity – January 2012
Thank you to all of you who have helped us get there. We have walked in wigs in the woods, danced in head scarves, raffled our belongings! And found every way possible to raise the money to become a registered charity. Our patients decided on the name Caring Hair that will run our Cancer Hair Care, Gigs and Wigs ad Happy Head charity services. Caring Hair registered charity number 1142528 England and Wales.

2011 the year of fundraising! together we walk in wigs, have coffee mornings, dance in wigs and raise money to establish our service. We create a panel of women who have had cancer and can advise us. We strive to become a registered charity.

TV Chanel 4 First Cut Films  featuring our Founder - July 10th 2010
Our founder Jasmin is featured as the hair loss specialist who identifies a solution for hair loss sufferer Laura. In this compelling documentary film Jasmin shows Laura how to look great by attaching a fake fringe to her hair to disguise hair loss.  Our charity Caring Hair specialises in Cancer Hair Care but also offers support to people through other forms of hair loss. Jasmin is also an expert on “Hair pulling”. Watch film.

Metalica are gentle giants meeting our teenage patients – July 2010
Metalica say “Hey Gigs and Wigs be the boss of your hair loss”. Anthony is one of the lucky teenager cancer patients who met the gentle giants. Anthony says “When they asked me if I would like to watch the show from back stage I couldn’t believe it. They were really kind and asked me all about my cancer and hair loss. I felt like I just fitted in as loads of people had no hair”.

Our first Cancer Hair Care website goes live – 2009
What started as a book about Cancer Hair Care became the worlds first all rounded free information website covering all aspects of hair loss to new growth specifically for cancer patients. 

Meeting the Prime Minister at number 10 Downing Street – 2008
Cancer Hair Care founder is invited to meet with the Prime Minister in recognition of her unique charitable work.

Our first Organic headscarves - March 2007
Jasmin and mum Pam create the worlds first Organic cotton specialist headscarves. Now Jasmin, mum and a diverse range of volunteers ranging from 8 year old Scarlet to 90 year old WI members, sow, knit and natter to create beautiful scarves to give for free.  In 2009 we created the first Organic and certified Fairtrade headscarves.   Jasmin comments “When I found out that cotton farming uses pesticides that cause cancer to cotton farmer in the third world I decided that something must be done. Around 30% of all of our headscarves are now organic or fairly traded cotton. It’s a head start to doing what we can to minimalize cancer”.

Light bulb moment - October 2005
Jasmin Julia Gupta is sitting on Brighton beach thinking of a way to help women with hair loss when the name Cancer Hair Care pops into her head. The spark was lite and the first Cancer Hair Care services were offered to people in their homes. Jasmin cycled to people on her Pashley bike with the front and back baskets stuffed with head scarves. “Back then I was hunting through charity shops for head scarves I could give to people  and dreaming up ways to offer women a unique and all rounded charity service”.
