We are delighted to announce the opening of our Caring Hair Studio. Call in for Coffee, Cake and Confidence…

Drop by for a cuppa and a chat with one of our wonderful volunteers and hair loss consultants. We have a beautiful cosy studio for you to visit.

Try on and buy low cost head scarves in our private changing room (Free scarf for each person – whilst stocks last)

Come in and find out about our FREE charity services including:

Free head scarf session (goody bag and free scarf for each person)

Free makeup mornings – learn how to create eyelashes and brows and beautiful new looks (goody bag and free scarf for each person)

We have a range of specialist hair and scalp products

Free wig cutting services

Wheelchairs and access – Kindly note that the entrance to The Caring Hair Studio has a short flight of stairs to climb. If this may cause you a problem may we recommend that you discus with the team how we can help you. The Lister Hospital clinic has full disabled access. 

Opening Times: 

Wednesday and Friday 10.30am to 2pm*
*Please call our studio for current opening hours (times may vary due to training). *Just pop in – no appointment is necessary for a chat and support. You may be asked to book an appointment for particular sessions such as hair cutting ect.

The Caring Hair Studio is located next door to Jo Gates Salon:


“Jo Gates” salon is located above Gladleys Deli Café at 5a Middle Row, Stevenage High Street. Please note that the salon entrance is round the back on *Church Lane. If you are facing Gladleys front door look right - at the end of the street you will see a barber shop called ‘The Cutter’. Go down the lane between the Barbers shop and Oxfam - you will now be on Church Lane. Look left for a bright red wooden garage and a sign saying 'Race Ways'. The entrance to Jo Gates is here via ‘Race Ways’ (Motor cycles and Scooters). Walk through the yard and follow signs to Jo Gates. Go through the main black door and up the stairs.

Parking: Parking is free in the high-street for 2 -3 hours. The Bunyan Baptist Church Car Park is directly behind the salon in Church Lane (Sat-nav SG1 3QR). Car Park charges: 0.50p an hour.
